After nearly 16 years of Sunday nights at the historic Ear Inn in New York City, Jon-Erik Kellso and The EarRegulars have finally made a live recording! It showcases their free-wheeling improvised ensemble interplay and daring solos, much to the delight of an enthusiastic audience of fans, friends and surprised folks who just showed up because it’s one of the oldest and coolest bars in New York.
Features Jon-Erik Kellso (trumpet), John Allred (trombone), Scott Robinson (tenor sax, alto Normaphone and tárogató), Evan Christopher (clarinet), Jay Rattman (alto sax), Matt Munisteri (guitar), Chris Flory (guitar), Neal Miner (bass), Pat O’Leary (bass) and special guest Catherine Russell on vocals.
In Scott Yanow's recently published book entitled Swing, Kellso's "Chapter 2: The Plot Thickens," Jon-Erik Kellso is described as being "one of the finest Mainstream and trad cornetists to emerge during the 1990s." Jon is also featured in Yanow's Trumpet Kings book.
