"Everybody really serious about jazz and about music dreams of making a recording with a string ensemble," says Warren Vache. His own dream came true in a BBC recording studio in Glasgow, Scotland, on a date with The Scottish Ensemble, a 12-strong virtuoso string group. For the occasion, Bill Finegan, "the dean of arranging." at age 87 agreed to do three arrangements, his first in 10 years. Additional arrangements were by guitarist James Chirillo, Alan Barnes, Warren Vache himself, and a long lost one by Johnny Carisi originally written for Charlie Parker. As listeners will discover, the performances are sublime, full of risk-taking and musicial adventure, keeping the recording exciting and its participants enthusiastic.

Selections:
It Was Written In the Stars, My Mistress' Eyes, Spring, My Love and I, Molly On the Shore, April in My Heart, Valse Prismatique, I Fall In Love Too Easily, Love Is For the Very Young, On The Street Where You Live
