Diego Figueiredo : Horse Blues

With this collection of original compositions, acclaimed Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo expands his musical palette while remaining unmistakably true to the expressive voice that has made him one of today's most celebrated guitarists. Best known internationally for his virtuosic acoustic performances, Diego turns primarily to the electric guitar throughout this recording, using its broader tonal range and expressive character to explore new textures while seamlessly weaving in the acoustic guitar that has become his signature.

Rather than representing a stylistic departure, the album showcases another dimension of Diego's artistry as both guitarist and composer. The thirteen tracks reflect a lifetime of musical influences—Brazilian rhythms, jazz improvisation, blues traditions and melodic storytelling—brought together through original works that are both accessible and deeply personal. Joined by his brother Tacio Figueiredo on electric bass and Anderson Matos on drums, Diego performs with the intuitive chemistry of musicians who know when to lead, when to accompany and when to simply let the music breathe. Harmonica player Uira Cabral and keyboardist Gi Reis add carefully chosen colors throughout the album, enriching the arrangements without ever overshadowing the guitar at the heart of the recording.
