This is happy music, performed by musicians enjoying their companionship and the opportunity to play together - for several after a lapse of many years. It resounds with the famous "street beat" and the timeless classics long identified with the sounds of New Orleans. Although the recording reminds us of happy times in New Orleans and the festive spirit that the city enjoyed, its release comes on the heals of the terrible tragedy and devastation that has befallen the "Big Easy." It is a time for recovery and rebuilding and Arbors Records is donating all of the proceeds from sales of this recording to the Jazz Foundation of America to assist New Orleans musicians to get back on their feet and to continue the proud musical tradition that has distinguished this city for more than a century. We encourage all who enjoy this music to contribute to this worthy organization to their best ability.
