Sammy Sherman, father of noted singer Daryl Sherman, had his own voice on the trombone and an uncanny ability to drive trumpet players crazy by being able to hit notes higher than they could play. The language of jazz came naturally to Samuel Sherman; he spoke it like a native. This record at last celebrates a very special artist and man—an American original.
