Kenny Davern, an icon of jazz clarinet, celebrates his fiftieth year of jazz recording with a swinging album of some of his favorite tunes performed with three of his favorite musicians, James Chirillo, Greg Cohen and Tony DeNicola. For the occasion he chose the historic Mill Hill Playhouse in Trenton, New Jersey, noted for its fine acoustics, and the atmosphere was relaxed, permitting the music to flow and the musicians to stretch out. The result is one of Kenny's finest performances in recent years - hot jazz from start to finish.
